-The Nisantasi Lions Club members will be celebrating their 41th Anniversary in 2008 !!

-Our club was formed in 1967 and is part of the International Association of Lions Clubs,which began in the USA in 1917.We are a group of 26 men and women who have decided to put something back into our local community.We are always looking for new members,who must be over 21,living in our area who enjoy doing what Lions do - helping others.

-New members always welcome,please join us at Hotel Villa,Istanbul at 8pm on 3rd wednesday of each month or mail us via Lion YILMAZ KAZANCI or contact the secretary if you would like further details.

    Activities :
-Provides financial and practical help to individuals and to a range of local,national and international charities.

-Assisting the people in need in our community.

-Scholarships to city highschools.

-We give money and practical help to people in the community,the disabled,the elderly and others in need.

-Support all the District recommended Lions charities.

-Donations made to families who have lost their homes due to earthquake,fire and other clamaties.

-Nisantasi Lions enjoy themselves too,by organising a programme of social events throughout the year,including:
  • an annual charter dinner,
  • a newyear dinner/dance and handover social,
  • other evenings out to restaurants and members homes and to events such as bowling, treasure hunts and special interest trips,
  • theatre trips,
  • weekends away in the Turkey or abroad.

-We meet once a month for business meeting and each member is assigned to a committee (fundraising,welfare or social),which also meets once a month.One social event is normally arranged each month.
